How should I handle a Christian who tries to evangelize me?
Q. I've encountered this situation twice, and each time they go away with hurt feelings - but I'm not sure how to handle it more subtly because they don't want to drop the subject. How would you handle a similar situation? What would you tell them to get the point across, without coming across as rude?

Christ told His followers to evangelize, but why do atheists feel the need to "convert others"?
Q. It's a simple question. If believers become disbelievers or not, no skin off your apple, right?

A. probably because athiest have the short end of the stick. if they're right, they die, bad ending. if they're wrong, they die and well.. ya... worse ending. so they rather be right and try to get people to agree with them to feel better about their positions.

Why arent all christians out there trying their best to evangelize?
Q. I mean it says in the bible, god is ordering you all to 'spread his word'. So why arent you? Why arent you sending me emails right now trying to tell me to repent and take up jesus? Or do you have to repent every time you dont walk up to a random person and preach to him about god? Why arent you evangelizing?

A. Greetings internet peoples! I just want to share this with you; Jesus Christ is Lord! He died for your sins, so that you will not be found wanting on the day of judgment. God loves you and doesn't want any of you to perish; please turn to the Lord for salvation! If you want to know more, email me. I'll be glad to share with you how the Lord has changed my life.

For those who are here to evangelize their faith or lack thereof?
Q. Do you believe its important to build credibility? If so, how do you accomplish that?
Asked by Citizen of the Cosmos - Tue Sep 22 00:06:38 2009 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Credibility is extremely important. Normally a person would do that by walking their talk. But in an impersonal environment like the internet, it is a little harder to do. Anyone can claim anything online, and there is not a whole lot a person can do to prove or disprove it. Personally I try to build some form of credibility by being honest, straight forth, and transparent in all my answers. I do not expect everyone to believe the way I do, and it would be a pretty boring world if they did. But, I know that there are some out there who are truly looking for the truth and I want to be one of several voices on Yahoo who tell it to them.

A. Quite a few of the Wiccans I know were raised Christian and grew dissatisfied with much of the Christian dogma and doctrine because it didn't fit, didn't make sense, whatever - and when they attempted to question and better understand/learn more, they were shut-down by their own religious leaders. They sought out to find a path more suitable and fitting for them personally. Others, like myself, who were not raised in any particular religious path, in our late teens/early adult years, began seeking where we belonged spiritually, and put a fair amount of time and study into Christianity and various denominations of it. I didn't fit into it then, and with over 15 years of personal and spiritual growth behind me, I certainly won't fit… [cont.]

A. They are like the servant that was given a talent and hid it away. The master wasn't please with that servant because it would have grown if he had shared it. That talent is the gospel. The bible says that there is no other name by which we must be saved. Only through Jesus. He is the way, the truth, the door to God and forgiveness. Yes, all mankind must become Christians if they want to be saved from their sins and judgement. Sorry but that's what the bible says.

Christians who evangelize...How does it look from the other side?
Q. As a Christian, if someone were to tell you that you were going to go to hell because you are worshiping a false God, idolizing Jesus of Nazareth as the son of God and that to save your soul, you must renounce this false teaching and repent of your wicked beliefs, you would think they were crazy/devil possessed, right? This is how it sounds to people with other beliefs when they are told that Jesus is the only way. So, how do you evangelize to people of other faiths and expect to be taken seriously?
Asked by Batz - Sun Apr 26 20:49:44 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Providing they did so respectfully and in a serious manner, I would politely disagree and explain my position to them as well. I would respect their beliefs and understand that they had my best interest at heart when they took the time out of their day to try and help me, as they saw it. I would not think they were crazy or devil-possessed. When I do evangelize, I am often taken seriously because many people in the world are genuinely interested in life and death, truth, Heaven etc. and are willing to listen to what Christians have to say on the issue. You have to understand that not everyone has made up their minds on the issue as solidly as you or I have and most do not reject or degrade what I and other Christians have to say without… [cont.]

A. Considering your Christ stole every idea from Buddha including the Golden rule, miracles, rosary beads, monasteries et all and that Buddhism is based on peace and positivity not dogma and was never spread by the sword unlike Christianity I fear you don't have a case. Your better off letting the Buddhist convert you instead away from the brainwashing your ancestors were subjected to by Roman soldiers.
