How many will admit that we too often pass the buck to the evangelist, when it comes to evangelism?
Q. We are commanded to preach the gospel to every creature, but do we exempt ourselves, and leave it to others?

A. Well, considering that Bill Bright did report that only 2% of the church in America actively share their faith with others, I'd say it happens way to often. Evangelism is everyone's role, The evangelist is just way more dedicated to it, but he also teaches people how to share their faith, as well as many other things. EDIT: To the dude that said that the Great Commission was only a command for the apostles... If that is true, then Christianity would had died with them. In reality, that is a command to all Christians, and that is how it has been viewed every since Jesus gave the orders.

How long until christians realize that saying people are saved if they "ask Jesus into their heart" is heresy?
Q. This form of evangelism isn't found in scripture and isn't true. We use all these tactics and try to convince people to "pray a prayer," and then declare them saved -- none of which is found in scripture. Salvation is a supernatural work of God. Shouldn't we be relying soley on the Lord to move on people at the preaching of the Gospel, looking for a new attitude toward God in them, and warning them to examine themselves -- showing them the signs of a true believer in 1 John?

A. Romans 10:13-15 (New International Version) 13for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." 14How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Is evangelism a substitute for morality?
Q. It's common to say that the overriding issue in Christianity is that people aren't saved, but it sometimes seems to be an excuse for sin. For instance, i've seen intentional deception and greed in evangelism on numerous occasions. Therefore, i want to ask you who are saved, forgetting any kind of issue of evangelism, how has Christ helped you to avoid sin? I'm not interested in the issue of grace rather than works, i'm just asking for specific examples of how He has "made you a better person", without reference to any evangelical or formally worship-based activity.

A. No. I have not seen what you have, except on TV. As I go thru life I am constantly asking myself, "Would God be pleased if I did this or that?"
